Terms of use

Last updated: October 25, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and [[OPERATOR LEGAL NAME]] (to be completed) (“Restored Network”, “we”). By creating an account or using restorednetwork.com, you agree to them and to our privacy notice. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

1. What Restored Network is

A free tool for a family member or friend to organize a loved one's path through the federal system. It includes phase checklists, a document vault, a release-date estimate, reminders, drafted letters and call plans, and a directory of churches, programs and consultants you can ask to be introduced to.

2. What it is not

  • Not legal advice. This is information, not legal advice. Ask your attorney. We are not a law firm, and using the service does not create an attorney-client relationship with anyone.
  • No guarantees. We never guarantee any outcome, including release dates, credits, designation, placement or program eligibility. Estimates are estimates; the Bureau of Prisons' calculation controls. Never misrepresent eligibility for any program.
  • We don't send messages. The platform drafts text. It never sends, relays, forwards or receives messages to or from an incarcerated person. You send what you choose through your own accounts.
  • We don't handle money. We never hold, move or request money. Deposits go through official BOP channels.
  • Not for emergencies. If someone is in danger, call 911. For urgent matters about someone in custody, contact the facility or their attorney.

3. Who can use it

You must be 18 or older and in the United States. Each account is for one person, so keep your password and sign-in links private. Partner accounts are only for people invited by Restored Network.

4. Your case and who can see it

The person who creates a case is its owner. The owner can add helpers by email invitation or with a share link. Everyone on a case can see and change everything in it; only the owner can delete it or manage who is on it. Anyone who has the share link and signs in can join as a helper, so share it only with people you trust, and reset it or turn it off if it gets out. The owner can archive or delete the case at any time. If the owner deletes their account, the person who has been on the case longest becomes its owner; if no one else has joined, the case is deleted.

5. What you put in

  • It's yours. You keep ownership of what you add. You let us store, copy, display and process it only to run the service for you, as the privacy notice describes.
  • Add only what you have a right to share. That includes information about your loved one and other people, and any documents. Some court documents, such as a presentence report, may come with limits on who can keep or share them. Check with your attorney before you upload them.
  • You are responsible for what you send. Follow the facility's rules, any court order (including no-contact orders), and any supervision conditions. Don't use drafts or introductions to contact anyone you are not allowed to contact.

6. Rules for everyone

Don't use the service to break the law; harass, threaten or deceive anyone; pretend to be someone else; upload harmful files; try to get into accounts or data that aren't yours; copy the directory in bulk; or send spam. We may remove content, or suspend or close accounts, that break these rules. We will tell you why, unless doing so would be unsafe or unlawful.

7. AI drafts

Drafts are written by an AI model or from templates. They can be wrong, incomplete or a poor fit. Read and edit every draft before you send it. You are the sender, and you are responsible for the message.

8. Directory, partners and consultants

Restored Network adds and approves every listing. Organizations can't list themselves. “Verified partner” means we have confirmed a working relationship and the partner agreed to be listed. Every other listing is a planned partner or example referral, and no affiliation is implied.

Partners and consultants are independent. We don't control or guarantee their services, and what happens after an introduction is between you and them. Consultants set their own fees and bill you directly; Restored Network takes no part in payment.

9. For partner users

In the partner portal you see only what families choose to send you. Use it only to answer their request and to help them. Keep it confidential. Don't add families to mailing lists or pass their information on, and delete it when the family asks or when you no longer need it. Contact details a family shares are for that request only. You may change only your organization's follow-up link; ask us to change anything else on your listing.

10. A free service

The service is free today. If we ever offer paid features, we will tell you first, and nothing you use will start costing money without your clear agreement.

11. Ending

You can stop using the service at any time and delete your account from the Account page, as the privacy notice explains. We may suspend or end access if you break these terms, or to protect others. We may change or retire features. If we ever shut the service down, we will give account holders at least 30 days' notice so they can download their documents.

12. Disclaimers

We work to keep information accurate and current, but rules, forms and facility practices change. To the extent the law allows, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind.

13. Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, [[OPERATOR LEGAL NAME]] (to be completed) and its staff and volunteers are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for decisions made by courts, the Bureau of Prisons, facilities, probation offices or partners. Because the service is free, our total liability for any claim is limited to $100. Some states don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

14. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of [[GOVERNING STATE]] (to be completed), without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Before you file a claim, please write to us so we can try to put things right. Claims must be brought in the state or federal courts located in [[GOVERNING STATE]] (to be completed), unless the law requires otherwise.

15. Changes

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll post the new version here with a new date, and tell account holders by email or in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using the service after that, the new terms apply.
